ABOUT

NĀ ‘ĀLAPA HAWAI‘I

Nā ‘Ālapa Hawai‘i is the name of our National Teams. It honors Paramount Chief Kalani‘ōpu‘u and his elite squad of warriors named ‘Ālapa. The name engenders the power, force, and uncontrollable nature of lapa (fire or lightning).

Renowned for their bravery, physical prowess, and superior athleticism in the 18th century, the regiment name, Ālapa, figuratively formed the modern term for athlete, or someone who is athletic. Nā ‘Ālapa Hawai’i literally means Hawaiian athlete.

CHARACTER x IDENTITY

We form National Teams to represent the Hawaiian Kingdom on the global football stage.

Our National Teams are purposed to showcase Hawaiian Football players; educate on Hawaiian national history, culture, and language; build international attention, awareness, and support; and share Hawaiian values with the international community – in a world in dire need of aloha.
