MOKU O KEAWE — HAWAI‘I ISLAND
The King’s Hawaiian Football Festival 25 is a dynamic celebration of culture, sport, and identity—uniting top Native Hawaiian footballers from across Hawai‘i and the diaspora for a week of connection, competition, and growth. At the heart of the Festival, Nā Wāhine 17s of Nā ‘Ālapa Hawai‘i take the field against the Sāmoa U-17 Women’s National Team, in a powerful expression of Pacific pride and sisterhood as Sāmoa prepares for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Hosted on Moku o Keawe
The Island of Hawai‘i, fondly known as Moku o Keawe, is both the largest and youngest of the Hawaiian Islands. Its name honors Keawe‘īkekahiali‘iokamoku, a revered 17th-century chief remembered for his peaceful and prosperous reign.
It was here, in Kohala, that Kamehameha I—Hawai‘i’s first mōʻī (king)—was born in 1758. By 1810, he fulfilled the famed prophecy, conquering the chiefdoms of Maui, O‘ahu, and Kaua‘i under one sovereign rule: Kō Hawai‘i Pae ‘Āina—the lands belonging to Hawai‘i.
As ambassadors of Hawaiian Football, we extend a warm welcome to Moku o Keawe and to Kō Hawai‘i Nei Pae ‘Āina — our beloved Hawai‘i and Hawaiian Islands.
